Entry #4: Mindful Eating
What is Mindful Eating?
Mindful eating is the practice of being fully present and aware of what you're putting into your body. Eating is truly a captivating experience that many of us take for granted. When you're eating, try to notice the colors, smells, tastes, and textures of the food you are going to eat. This will allow you to slow down and be fully conscious of what you're eating.
Benefits of Mindful Eating
Not only does mindful eating allow one to be fully engaged into the eating experience, but it also promotes a deeper connection with food.
I have recently been trying to become a bit more mindful when I'm eating. I try to be aware about the amount of food I'm eating and what I am eating. I used to overeat and feel sick after every single meal. After I noticed this, I wanted to make a change. Now, I only eat until I am no longer hungry. I would eat until I was over-full.

I feel like I've seen tremendous results from being conscious of how and what I'm eating. I don't feel nasty or bloated after a meal anymore. From this new outlook on eating, I've also began to notice what foods make me more bloated or feel not as great after consuming it. Personally a lot of carbs make me more bloated than if I were to eat something else. This is something I would have overlooked in the past. It is important to understand the signs your body is giving you, and take action upon noticing the signs. By embracing mindful eating and becoming accustomed to our bodies needs, we will be able to transform our well-being, and cultivate a more satisfying eating experience.
I definitely know what I am putting into my body at a daily basis; however, I definitely do not put the best stuff into my body. Even though I am an athlete I do not eat healthy that is for sure. I think that if I was not so active I would definitely need to watch and understand what I am eating. Maybe I will see the effects later in life, Thanks for the share and relatabilty.
ReplyDeleteI feel like, especially as an athlete, it is important to optimally fuel your body. Of course you don't have to stick to a strict diet, but protein, real carbs, fruits, and veggies are going to be your best friends. I also struggle with eating healthy, but I try to be aware of what I'm eating and eat in moderation, for the most part. I will never say no to a Crumbl cookie, though.
ReplyDeleteI try my best to be mindful on what I'm eating but sometimes food is too good. I also use to overeat and feel bad after, this made me change my eating habits. I now section out my food and I try and get fruits and vegetables in every meal.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your blog and agrre with you about mindful eating. It is important to know what we are putting in our bodies and weither or not it will give us nutrition. When I am eatting or grocery shopping I try to be mindful of what I will be consuming and if it is truly healthly for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Maya! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this blog. I strongly agree that mindful eating is an important aspect, especially when it comes to the amount we're eating and what we're eating. I have started to include mindful eating into my daily regimen and I've noticed that it changes a lot about your body and how your body feels. Thank you for sharing.
